This year General & Medical celebrate 21 years as a healthcare specialist. Other insurers offer PMI - yet how many can truly claim to be specialists, when they offer other products such as car insurance. Herein lies our difference.
General & Medical were established during the 1980's initially providing Finance and Insurance services to professionals within the UK. The company was incorporated as a Plc within 12 months and has its main office in Peterborough with further administrative offices in London and Guernsey. |

General & Medical has gained a reputation for excellent insured products and financial services, within the medical profession and continue to do so in the corporate and public domains. Today we are the preferred provider of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland. We are regularly advised on advances in healthcare by our own Medical Advisory Panel.
As a PMI specialist our company profile may not be as high as those offering PMI on the back of other insurance products, however our healthcare range is highly competitive when judged on price point and level of cover as demonstrated by Defaqto comparisons. As a PMI specialist we offer alternatives to conventional PMI such as Healthcare Trusts. We can develop bespoke schemes to suit your clients, can include risk share and can offer your clients unique products like Sports, which was created specifically for the amateur and semi-professional sports market. General & Medical are uniquely placed to deliver a more personal 'one to one' level of customer service. We don't use call centres - only named points of contact.
